CITYPHONE SERVICE INTRODUCTION

   Hanoi CityPhone system is based on IPAS system provided by

Switchboard: Soft switch based on IP, using WACOS exchange.

Air-Interface: Standard PHS RCR-STD28 Version 2 - TDMA/TDD.

Voice signal coding rate: ADPCM 32kb/s.

Radio frequency: 1900MHz band, authorized bandwidth 5MHz.

Channel width: 300KHz/channel.

Emitting/ receiving stations and coverage:

There are 2 types of emitting /receiving station

CS (CellStation): Emitting power 0.5W (500mW), provides 7 voice channels simultaneously, outdoor unit on 4m or 7m high antenna installed on high buildings roof-top (at least 4 floors).

(Radio Port): Emitting power 0.01W (10mW), provides 3 voice channels simultaneously, installed indoor, in halls, supermarkets.
There will be coverage widening and quality upgrading phases in the near future.

Cityphone sets

Actually, there are various types and models of handset for CityPhone and CityPhoneP: UTS 700U, UTS 702-S331, UTS 708J, UTS 702U,... Besides, there is fixed CityPhone set UT818 with functions similar to cordless fixed telephone set.

Features : PHS handset has features similar to that of GSM handset. However, features might be different depending on handset's type. Handset models which can serve both CityPhone and GSM are available now.

Emitting power: 10mW.

Talking time: Approximately 8 hours, depends on handset type.

Standby time: Approximately 200 to 300 hours, depends on handset type.  CityPhone sets

 

CITYPHONE – Green Technology

With low emitting power levels: CS 0.5W, RP 0.01W, and handset 0.01W, CityPhone is evaluated as a green technology having no harm to human health by countries over the world . Moreover, Cityphone is recommended to be used in hospitals..

Services provided by the system

Post-paid mobile CityPhone.
Pre-paid mobile CityPhone (CityPhoneP)
Value added services : Call limiting, barring, forwarding, waiting, speed dial, conference...
Short message service SMS within CityPhone network and from CityPhone to VinaPhone, MobiFone.
CityNet for Internet 1260/1268 access via CityPhone.
